The Huntsville Municipal Accommodation Tax Association (HMATA) is Huntsville's official destination marketing and management organization. Established through a mandatory 4% tax on short-term accommodations under 30 days, HMATA plays a pivotal role in transforming Huntsville into Ontario's most visited year-round destination.

Position Overview
This Digital Marketing Internship offers a comprehensive 52-week hands-on training opportunity in essential digital marketing skills including social media management, SEO, content creation, analytics, and digital advertising. The program strategically bridges academic learning with practical application, developing a qualified professional who understands both advanced digital strategies and unique regional market dynamics.
Position Details
• Location: Huntsville, Ontario
• Duration: 52 weeks (December 2025 – December 2026)
• Hours: 35 hours per week
• Compensation: $19.23 per hour
Key Responsibilities
The Digital Marketing Intern will undertake the following duties:
• Social Media Management: Create, schedule, and manage content across Explore Huntsville's social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook) to promote local attractions, events, and tourism experiences
• Content Creation: Develop engaging written and visual content including blog posts, captions, graphics, and video content showcasing Huntsville's tourism offerings
• SEO Optimization: Research keywords and optimize website content, blog posts, and online listings to improve search visibility for tourism-related searches
• Digital Analytics: Monitor and analyze website traffic, social media engagement, and campaign performance using tools like Google Analytics to measure marketing effectiveness
• Email Marketing: Assist with creating and managing email campaigns to promote events, seasonal activities, and tourism packages to visitor databases
• Website Content Management: Update and maintain explorehuntsville.ca with current information about attractions, accommodations, and local businesses
• Digital Advertising: Support paid advertising campaigns on Google Ads and social media platforms to drive tourism traffic and bookings
• Photography/Videography: Capture high-quality photos and videos of local attractions, events, and experiences for marketing materials
Qualifications
• Education in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Tourism, or a related field
• Strong interest in digital marketing, social media, and content creation
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Creative mindset with attention to detail
• Basic photography and/or videography skills (or willingness to learn)
• Familiarity with social media platforms and digital marketing tools
• Passion for tourism & community promotion
